Technical Parameters

The core strength of Jinlong Double Wall Fabric lies not in its surface coating, but in the thousands of precisely aligned, equal-length polyester drop yarns within. Our double-sided synchronous feeding technology ensures uniform tension across every yarn after inflation, eliminating localized bulging or sagging and delivering superior panel rigidity. A precision tension control system monitors yarn conditions throughout production, guaranteeing consistent drop yarn height and weaving density for a reliable substrate.

What sets Jinlong apart is our ability to deliver both mature PVC and TPU product lines on one unified drop-stitch weaving platform.

PVC Solution: Built on 1000D high-tenacity polyester yarns with a double-sided knife-coating process, it offers peel strength ≥12N/cm and maximum working pressure up to 25 PSI. UV stabilizers and anti-aging agents ensure long-term outdoor durability without chalking or cracking. A cost-effective choice for SUPs, air mattresses, floating docks, and other mass-market inflatables.

TPU Solution: Produced via solvent-free hot-melt lamination – no plasticizers, low odor, anti-yellowing, and hydrolysis-resistant. Maintains flexibility without brittleness even at -60°C. Peel strength ≥15N/cm with superior air retention. Designed for high-end outdoor gear, medical rehabilitation cushions, and baby/infant inflatables, meeting the strictest environmental and safety standards.

Both solutions share the same drop-stitch weaving standards, ensuring consistent material behavior, minimizing dimensional variations, and reducing fabrication waste. Jinlong delivers both options at industry-leading quality – giving your product line the headroom to compete in premium segments and the cost structure to win in mass markets, all from a single drop-stitch platform.

Features of Double Wall Fabric

•Unique 3D drop stitch structure: Evenly spaced vertical polyester yarns keep the panel flat after inflation, avoiding bulging and sagging while providing rigid support. The double-sided synchronous feeding technology ensures consistent tension across all yarns.

•Dual material solutions: PVC coated and solvent-free TPU laminated options, sharing the same drop-stitch standards to cover both budget-conscious and high-end markets.

•Superior processing performance: Compatible with HF welding, hot air sealing, and UV printing, suitable for efficient mass production of all types of inflatable goods.

•Outstanding physical durability: High tear and peel strength. PVC version features UV stabilizers for long-term outdoor marine use; TPU version offers low-temperature flexibility (down to -60°C), hydrolysis resistance, and low odor for premium applications.

•Precision weaving for consistent dimensions: Advanced tension control during weaving minimizes shrinkage during thermal bonding, reducing dimensional errors and production waste for manufacturers.

FAQ of Double Wall Fabric

Q: What is Double Wall Fabric?

A: Double Wall Fabric (DWF) is an airtight hollow composite material. Thousands of vertical polyester yarns connect two upper and lower airtight films to form a sealed cavity. It is available in two processing routes: PVC coating and TPU thermal lamination. After inflation, the fabric forms a rigid, flat panel, widely used for high-pressure inflatable water equipment.

Q: My finished SUP boards have wavy uneven surfaces. Is this caused by the fabric?

A: Yes. Surface waves usually occur due to uneven yarn tension during drop-stitch weaving. Some threads stay loose while others remain tight, leading to unsynchronized stress after inflation and resulting in uneven panels. We adopt the dual-side synchronous yarn feeding technology to ensure uniform stress on every vertical stitch and avoid surface undulations fundamentally.

Q: My TPU laminated DWF turns yellow after months of storage. What causes yellowing?

A: Two main factors lead to TPU yellowing. First, ordinary aromatic TPU raw material with poor anti-yellowing performance is adopted. Second, improper temperature control during lamination triggers slight molecular degradation of the material. We use aliphatic polyether TPU together with low-temperature slow thermal lamination technology to greatly reduce yellowing risks.

Q: Customers complain about separation between surface film and drop-stitch layer. What is the root cause?

A: Delamination generally falls into two categories. Either the drop-stitch yarns are loosely woven with weak anchoring points on the films, or inadequate heat pressure during lamination fails to create strong interlayer bonding. We maintain stable tension throughout weaving to balance internal fabric stress, preventing rebound and delamination during customers' subsequent thermal welding.

Q: Do PVC DWF and TPU DWF share the same drop-stitch base material?

A: Yes. Drop-stitch weaving is our shared front-end process. The same batch of drop-stitch semi-finished products can go through either the PVC coating line or TPU thermal lamination line. Differences lie in post-processing: PVC fabric adopts double-side knife coating, while TPU fabric uses solvent-free hot melt lamination.

Q: What thickness options do you offer for DWF, and how do you control height tolerance?

A: Standard stitch height ranges from 5 cm to 30 cm, and custom sizes are available. Precise tension control stabilizes weaving and keeps consistent stitch height. Large variations in stitch height cause uneven stress distribution after inflation, creating local pressure concentration and increasing the risk of damage.

Q: Will printed patterns get damaged during thermal edge welding?

A: Damage may happen depending on the heat resistance of printing ink. Our fabric works with high-temperature resistant ink to prevent pattern discoloration and blistering during welding. We also recommend reserving blank zones for thermal welding in product design to avoid direct high-temperature contact on printed graphics.

Q: Can you supply fabric that withstands -40°C low temperature?

A: Yes. Our TPU version DWF maintains excellent flexibility at -40°C without hardening or cracking, suitable for applications in frigid environments.
